BM8 Advances Integrated Germanium
Strategy
BM8 completes licence over NTUitive’s portfolio of germanium-related technologies
Battery Age Minerals Ltd (ASX:BM8, “Battery Age” or “the Company”) is pleased to
announce completion of the Exclusive Patent and Know-How Licence Agreement with
NTUitive Pte Ltd (“NTUitive”), the innovation and enterprise company of Nanyang
Technological University, Singapore ("NTU Singapore").
Execution of the commercial licence follows the Company’s 9 March 2026 announcement in
which Battery Age held an option to enter the licence under an evaluation licence arrangement
with NTU Singapore.
Battery Age CEO, Sebastian Kneer, commented: “Completion of this licence marks another
important step in BM8’s strategy to build a Western-aligned germanium supply chain with
credible end-market relevance. Combined with our germanium projects at Bleiberg–Hochobir
and Apex and our sustainable processing pathways workstream, this licence strengthens
BM8’s engagement with end customers and strategic partners through a clearer, specification-
led value proposition.“
BM8’s germanium portfolio spans two historically significant districts:
• Bleiberg–Hochobir (Austria): BM8’s landholding covers approximately 330 km² across
two historical mining districts known for extensive lead-zinc production and associated
germanium mineralisation. Bleiberg is recognised as one of the world’s most significant
historic zinc–germanium districts, with the historic Bleiberg Mine reportedly having
produced approximately 5.5 million ounces of germanium prior to closure1
, historically
ranking it among the largest global germanium producers and underscoring the district-
scale significance of the project.
• Apex Project (Utah, USA): BM8’s landholding covers 186 mining claims (~3,728 acres)
surrounding the historic Apex Mine in the Beaver Dam Mountains, UTAH, USA. Apex is
recognised as the world’s first primary germanium–gallium mine and was historically
noted for high-grade germanium and gallium mineralisation2
.
As BM8 advances work programs across Bleiberg and Apex, the Company’s focus remains
on contributing to a secure, Western-aligned germanium supply chain whilst advancing an
integrated germanium strategy. The exclusive worldwide commercial licence further
strengthens downstream specification and qualification position, while the sustainable
processing pathways workstream supports optionality for cleaner and more efficient production
outcomes. In combination, these initiatives are intended to improve BM8’s “mine-to-market”
readiness and support engagement with end customers and strategic partners seeking secure,
compliant supply.

BM8 will pursue further research to support the Company’s broad strategy of understanding
downstream germanium-based semiconductor and optoelectronic market requirements.
Integrated Approach – From Resource to Specification
Higher-value germanium markets are qualification-driven: small variations in purity and
impurity control can materially impact device performance, yield and reliability. BM8’s
approach is therefore to build capability across two linked areas:
• Downstream specification context: to better understand the product parameters and
qualification requirements that matter to end users; and
• Upstream processing optionality (sustainable pathways): to assess pathways that may
reduce chemical intensity and energy input while supporting improved consistency and
responsible sourcing outcomes.
Together, these initiatives are intended to support BM8’s ability to engage end customers and
strategic partners with a clearer, customer-led value proposition as BM8 progresses its core
germanium projects. This approach is intended to complement BM8’s ongoing exploration
programs by ensuring that resource development decisions are informed by long-term end-
market and supply-chain considerations.
